Factors You Control

Medical advances have truly improved the quality of peoples lives.  We have medications that allow people to have productive and healthy lives.  Surgical techniques have enabled miraculous recovery of patients in significant distress.

But patients now have expectation that 21th century medical care will solve all problems. We are starting to believe all the marketing hype about many of the procedures, and discount the fact that there are risks associated with many treatments.

In a nutshell, many of our medical complaints are manifestations of the aging process.  As much as we would like to believe, we all know that you cannot stop aging.  In fact,  with some of our day to day behaviors, we may be accelerating that process.

Many spine problems are manifestations of the wear and tear process of aging.

We do have control of some of those factors. In relationship to the spine, this section will deal with these FACTORS WE CONTROL.  Yes, we do have some responsibility for our own health conditions.
